Flourish Australia have opened a Waterless Car Wash in Tamworth to save precious water and provide employment opportunities for locals with lived experience of mental health issues.
Flourish Australia know that having meaningful employment plays an important part in a person’s mental health recovery journey. Responding to local water restrictions in Tamworth, which remain at level 5, opening a Waterless Car Wash has created jobs for 29 supported staff.
“These days everyone is looking for ways to reduce water usage. Our Waterless Car Wash means locals won’t need to sacrifice a clean car to do so,” says Senior Cluster Manager Jim Booth. “For some, this may be their first real opportunity for meaningful work after a long period of unemployment.”
As demand for the service grows, the hope is to employ at least 50 people with lived experience locally.
The Waterless Car Wash is Flourish Australia’s first community business in the area. The long term vision is to expand the workforce to more than 200 by opening more sites throughout the region.
