At Flourish Australia, we believe everyone has the potential to live a fulfilling and independent life. Our Supported Independent Living (SIL) program is designed to help people with complex mental health needs achieve just that.
What is Supported Independent Living?
The live-in program funded through the National Disability Insurance Scheme provides fully furnished homes, rental subsidies, and tailored, 24/7 support to help participants achieve their goals. Highly trained staff can help with day-to-day tasks such as personal care, cooking, cleaning and medication management.
Key features
Skills development
Supported Independent Living empowers participants to become the best version of themselves, with support to develop and maintain routines, and build emotional and social skills and resilience.
Community connection
People are encouraged to participate in community activities such as sports and support groups to build connections and a sense of belonging.
Personalised care
We understand that everyone’s needs and goals are different. That’s why each resident receives a personalised care plan tailored to their specific requirements and aspirations.
Accessing Supported Independent Living
Prospective participants need to have a housing goal included in their NDIS plans. This can be arranged through a meeting with a support coordinator. Referrals can also be made by doctors, local allied health professionals, or hospitals. If you’re unsure about the process, don’t worry – we’re here to help guide you through every step.
